Travel Awards for Graduate Student Professional Development

Thanks to generous support from the KU Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEIB), KASC has funds of up to $500 available on a competitive basis for graduate students seeking support to travel and present African Studies work in a relevant conference, including but not limited to the annual meeting of the African Studies Association. To apply for the travel grant, send (1) a letter of interest explaining how your attendance at the conference will contribute to the university’s DEIB mission, (2) an abstract of your presentation, (3) notification of acceptance or other proof that you will be presenting at the conference, and (4) an up-to-date CV. KASC will consider applications on a rolling basis. Apply to kasc@ku.edu by the 15th of each month for announcement of awards by the 30th of that month.
