Africa-Related Courses Across The University

As a center oriented towards the promotion of innovative scholarship on Africa and its diasporas, KASC has 90+ core, affiliate, and research faculty members who use a variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary prisms to interrogate Africa's place in the global milieu, producing scholarship that disseminates an enlightened view of Africa into the public consciousness while dismantling pervasive colonial and imperialistic depictions of Africa as a place lacking in agency and under the perpetual cloak of metaphorical darkness.

Africa-Related Courses Across the University

Beyond utopic Safaris or the "starving populace," KASC affiliated courses strive to advance knowledge and seek solutions to pressing questions related to the complex cultural, social, religious, and political dynamics at play in contemporary Africa. KASC seeks to provide an environment for learning and working where differences are valued and each person is supported and offered an equitable opportunity to achieve their academic and professional goals, so we believe that our courses promote multiculturalism on campus and in our community. Thus, below is a non-exhaustive list of multidisciplinary courses across the university for those interested in studying Africa:
